The Struggle for Land is the Struggle for Water

The issue of land has dominated different histories and all histories of all people. The story less told is the one of water.

Over the centries, millions of Africans were sold as slaves had their
lands colonised and so became dispossed of their means of production.
The notion of private property that western civilisation brought to
Africa was unknown. Land and water was for the common good of the
tribe.

Western civilisation did not only bring the notion of property
ownership but also, ownership of water. The system of ownership of
water is called riparianism. So, not only were African people dispossed
of their land but also, of water.
