Swaziland United Democratic Front

Skrevet 21 April 2010

The project aims to capacity build SUDF as an organisation, and to
strengthen the organisation in its role as a cohesive coalition and
mouthpiece and advocate of democratic change in Swaziland. SUDF is the
hub or centre of the democratic movement in the little autocratic
kingdom of Swaziland; a country where the severely repressive
traditional system results in poverty and lack of democracy. The project
will capacity-build SUDF through the implementation of improved
conflict-solution mechanisms, improved transparency in the
decision-making processes of the organisation, improved internal
communication to improve the level of information of both local and
international actors, and the mobilisation of local independent CBOs and
NGOs by way of information dissemination on the subjects of democracy
and economical and social rights.

The overall objective of the project is to create a broadly founded,
inclusive and democratic organisation that will enable the population to
participate actively in, and influence, the social, economical and
political processes of Swaziland.

The project is expected to commence in August 2010 with a budget of 1 million Danish Kroner.
