Health Rights Action Group, Uganda: Our health is in our hands

This project is in an initiatory phase, as Africa Contact and Ugandan
local NGO, Health Rights Action Group (HAG), are still  in the proces of
association-building. HAG has a unique approach to a neglected area,
that of the human rights of HIV-positive people - especially in regard
to stigma and discrimination. HAG mobilises within the Hiv-positive
community, arranges people's forums, and is generally a renowned
organisation amongst the parties with which it works. Africa Contact's
Aids-project in Uganda has interviewed 115 Hiv-positive Ugandans so far
on the subject of their experiences of stigma and discrimination.
